The Pyunkang Yul Shampoo Dancheong takes its cue from the Dano festival tradition of washing hair with Acorus Calamus root in clear water, and its packaging from Dancheong, the painted patterns that protected Korean temple timber for centuries. Sweet flag root clears buildup, resurrection plant and five hyaluronic acid forms handle a dry scalp, and centella calms sensitivity. The essential-oil blend is the point rather than an afterthought.

The Dancheong range is scented with natural essential oils : orange, bergamot, lavender, geranium and rosemary : and declares the allergens they contain. If your skin reacts to fragrance, this line is not the right fit. Bergamot and citrus oils can also increase sun sensitivity, so wear sunscreen on any exposed skin.
